Dubbed ‘The Water Beast’, Michaela Jasmine Mojdeh lived up to her status as the country’s foremost junior swimmer, making waves in both local and international competitions since nourishing her skills by Asian Games medalist, the late Susan Papa.

The 17-year-old Mojdeh holds multiple national junior records in 14-under and is a consistent winner in the Palarong Pambansa, Batang Pinoy, and National Championships.

A two-time World Junior Championship campaigner, the Brent International School Manila standout was the second Filipino to reach the Final 16 in the World stage, placing 13th at 1:03.43 in the 2022 edition in Lima, Peru.

Just recently, Mojdeh, representing Brent had a grand farewell in the 2024 Asia Pacific Activities Conference (APAC) Swimming Championships, winning one gold, one silver, and one bronze in her final playing year in the annual swimfest in Beijing, China.

Mojdeh is part of the 44-man Philippine Team which test mettle with some of the best in the continent in the 11th Asian Age Group Championship swimming event slated February 26-29 at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas, Tarlac.

The topnotch swimmer of Behrouz Elite swimming club is entered in the girls 15-17 class 200-m butterfly with a qualifying time of 2:18.50.
