Worth P20 million per unit, the BRAVE robots were turned over to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in a ceremony at Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City on Monday.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the  Explosive Ordnance Disposal/K9 Group Headquarters was also conducted.

The facility ensures that police personnel are equipped with the infrastructure needed for effective operations amid the evolving challenges faced by law enforcers, the PNP said.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on the same day several government agencies, local governments, and schools in different parts of the country received bomb threats.

One of the affected agencies, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), said that the bomb threat at its central office in Quezon City was just a hoax based on police investigation.

According to the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC),  the email containing the bomb threats originated from Japan.

The CICC also said it is now coordinating with the Japanese government for an investigation into the bomb threats. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA Integrated News
