-South Africa has filed an application at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel over allegations of genocide.
They accuse Israel of violating its obligations under the Genocide Convention in its crackdown against the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza.
The application comes after the Israeli military said it is expanding operations in southern Gaza on Friday, an area where Palestinians were previously told to find refuge.
As Nivrita Ganguly reports, Israel has called the filing “baseless.”
