QCPD Arrests Delivery Rider for Estafa

QUEZON CITY, December 28, 2023—PMAJ Wilfredo Taran, C, District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) reported the arrest of Joseph Narido, 35 years old, a delivery rider, and a resident of Brgy. Tandang Kutyo and Tanay Rizal for Estafa/Swindling in Quezon City.

Based on the report, on December 26, 2023, Judielyn Jose, an online seller, reported a complaint to DSOU against the suspect who did not deliver her assorted pieces of gold jewelry to their intended destination. Subsequently, she then contacted the suspect and arranged a meet-up at Wendy’s Store, located next to Fisher Mall along Quezon Ave. and Roosevelt Ave. in Quezon City, in an attempt to recover her jewelry.

Acting on the complaint, DSOU immediately conducted an operation at 12:20 PM thereat which led to the apprehension of the suspect and the recovery of pieces of jewelry amounting to Php148,000.

The suspect was charged with estafa/swindling of the RPC in relation to R.A. 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
