Rescue of 54 individuals attempting illegal migration on board of a boat off the coast of Al Arida shore

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 26/12/2023, upon receiving information about a capsizing boat off the coast of Al Arida shore during an attempt to illegally smuggle individuals, a patrol from the Lebanese Navy managed to rescue 54 people, including women and children, all of whom were Syrian.

The armed Forces provided assistance with the support of a team from the Lebanese Red Cross.
