President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. named and renamed at least eight Philippine National Police (PNP) camps and real properties after former police officers who rendered exemplary service.
Marcos issued Proclamation Nos. 429 and 430 for this purpose, according to the Presidential Communications Office on Wednesday.
Under Proclamation No. 429 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on December 20, Marcos named and renamed the following properties as follows:
“It is fitting to give honor to former servicemen who have shown patriotism, courage, and dedication in serving the country and the provinces to which they are assigned, and distinguished themselves in their service to the nation, by way of naming and renaming PNP facilities in their honor,” Marcos said.
Meanwhile, under Proclamation No. 430 also signed by Bersamin on Dec. 20, Marcos named and renamed the following properties as follows:
Marcos cited Section 2 of Republic Act No. 10086, or the Strengthening People’s Nationalism through Philippine History Act in naming and renaming the PNP camps and properties. The said provision strengthens people’s nationalism, love of country and respect for its heroes and pride for people’s accomplishments. —KG, GMA Integrated News
