These past few months, Joey de Leon, along with Tito and Vic Sotto, has been addressing the issue of the Eat Bulaga title. It is known to many that the Henyo Master was the one who coined the title but when they left Television And Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc., they weren’t able to bring the show’s name.

With this, they had to resort to legal action. Despite the decision released by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHIL) in favor of TVJ, the Kapuso noontime show is still using the title created by Joey as the TAPE is not giving up the fight yet. TVJ is still using the E.A.T. title for their noontime show on TV5 but they are also hopeful that out of respect, TAPE will stop using the Eat Bulaga title.

In his Instagram post featuring his Christmas wish, Joey echoed this. He wished that the other show will change its name already.

Syempre Maligayang Pasko rin sa lahat. Ang wish ko ngayong Pasko—-sana magbago na …magbago na…MAGBAGO NA NG TITLE yung ibang show! Ngek! Joke lang! Healthy 2024 to all!” Joey wrote in the caption of his post.

Previously, Joey shared the story behind the 1980 logo of Eat Bulaga which he helped conceptualize.
