After weeks of speculation, Kim Chiu officially announced her split with longtime partner Xian Lim.

The 33-year-old actress confirmed the breakup on her Instagram page on December 23, 2023, by posting a collage of black-and-white photos of them together through the years and the following written statement:
“End of a love story. It took me a while to say this until today. We owe our supporters the truth, but we also respect each other’s time of healing.
“In a relationship, love is always a significant factor, but sometimes love is not enough. We shared more than a decade of love, each other’s support system, and many beautiful memories. It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship. We thank all our followers for their love and support, but now we ask you to appreciate our honesty and give us the privacy we need as we begin new chapters of our lives. To all our supporters, maraming salamat for all the love and understanding.”
She then took a moment to express her gratitude to Xian who has been her boyfriend for close to 12 years.
“Lastly, to Xi, Thank you for the almost 12 years of beautiful memories together one can never imagine. You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for showing me what love is. As we close this chapter, I ask for everyone’s kindness and respect. I hope this clears everything as we all move forward with our lives,” Kim ended in her post.

As of writing, Xian has yet to release his own statement about the breakup.
Previously, Kim went on record in an interview with ABS-CBN to say that she would rather keep the issue between her and Xian “private” neither confirming nor denying the rumors at the time. “Grabe… sa amin na lang ‘yun, we’ll just keep it to ourselves na muna [Goodness… it’s just between us, we’ll just keep it to ourselves first],”
They have been together since 2012 but only confirmed that they were exclusively dating to the public in 2018.
