Israel-Gaza war: Hamas says over 20,000 killed since October 7th

The leader of Hamas is in Egypt tonight where there are hopes that a new deal on hostage and prisoner exchanges could be on the cards. But in New York the United Nations Security council has delayed a vote calling for humanitarian access for a third time, amid wrangling about the wording of the resolution.

Meanwhile in Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry has reported that the death toll since October 7th has now passed 20,000.
