A US Navy destroyer has been launching missiles in the red sea to intercept fire from Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
The US Navy claims that the USS Carney has intercepted more than 20 aerial threats from the militant group.
The Iran-backed militants have increased their attacks on commercial ships heading to Israeli ports.
Attacks will continue until humanitarian supplies are allowed into Gaza with no restrictions, a Houthi spokesperson said.
The Houthis have be en targeting shipping and launching long-range attacks on Israel since the Israel-Hamas war began.
They say their intervention is aimed at stopping Israel’s airstrikes and ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
The rebels have warned all ships and companies against dealing with Israeli ports.
Just weeks ago, the Houthis filmed themselves hijacking a British-owned cargo ship in the Red Sea.
Israel said it’s prepared to act against the efforts by Houthi rebels in Yemen.
