Iran denies involvement in ship seizure by Yemen’s Houthi rebels

Iran has rejected Israeli allegations that it is behind the hijacking of a ship by Yemen’s Houthis.
The vessel is reportedly owned by an Israeli businessman.
Israel said the incident was an “Iranian act of terrorism” but Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said the assertions were aimed at shifting attention from its “irreparable defeat” in the war in Gaza.
“We have said multiple times that resistance groups in the region act independently and spontaneously based on their interests and that of their people,” Nasser Kanaani said at a news conference.
