Netanyahu Claims ‘Successes’ in Gaza Amid Israel Ground Offensive

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with soldiers at a military base in central Israel on Thursday amid ground operations by the country’s troops in the Gaza Strip. Speaking in a video released by his press office, Netanyahu claimed there have been “very impressive successes” in the besieged territory.

Seventeen Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza since the start of ground operations during the latest war with Hamas. In his remarks, Netanyahu paid tribute to those troops, saying “every soldier who falls means a lifetime, and our hearts go out to the families.”

In total, at least 9,061 people have been killed in Gaza, including 3,760 under the age of 18. More than 1,400 people have been killed on the Israeli side.
