After five days of waiting, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto won against Trump-backed Adam Laxalt in Nevada. Democrats are on track to their best midterm performance since John F. Kennedy was President. They now hold 50 senate seats after Pennsylvania flipped blue and Arizona re-elected Mark Kelly. This, combined with Vice President Kamala Harris’s tie-breaking vote, locked in democratic control of the upper chamber.
