After The Fact: The Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court has suspended the investigation into President Duterte’s drug war upon the request of the Philippine government. The Duterte administration argued “domestic institutions in the Philippines are fully functional and more than adequate to address the issues and concerns raised.” It cited the Justice Department’s investigation into 52 drug cases where findings were submitted to the National Bureau of Investigation for case “build-up.” In the meantime, the ICC prosecutor said his office would continue analyzing information already in its possession including new ones that may be submitted by third parties.
