The International Criminal Court (ICC) said it has reason to believe crimes against humanity have been committed during Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs. In response, Manila said that the court has no jurisdiction over it. Among the alleged crimes — murder and torture. The ICC also said drug suspects were subject to serious injuries and mental harm. According to official data, close to 6,000 people have been killed in police operations, but activists believe the real number is many times higher.
