Hong Kong education authorities are investigating allegations a male teacher sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl at his home two years ago.
The Education Bureau confirmed to the Post on Sunday that the school had submitted a report to the government, pledging to hold the teacher accountable if professional misconduct was identified.
“In serious cases, the bureau will revoke the teacher’s registration under the Education Ordinance after taking into account various factors, and the teacher will no longer be allowed to teach in schools,” the bureau said.
Authorities did not disclose the name of the school.
A social media post by the alleged victim six days ago laid out the accusations with photos of three pages of handwritten notes, sparking outrage among internet users.
