GWC AUSA 2025 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
DIGITAL APPLICATIONS
(Commemorating 250 years of our United States Army)
The George Washington Chapter AUSA 2025 Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that we are accepting DIGITAL applications at C2101@ausa.org for this year’s scholarship program commencing now through Friday, 2 May 2025.
The digital scholarship application consists of 5 elements:
- Name, address, phone number, email address
- A short letter to the chapter from the applicant describing why you are deserving of a scholarship including any special family/other considerations
- Official Academic Transcripts
- Letter of Recommendation from teacher, counselor, or supervisor
- YOUR current AUSA individual membership number and affiliation with the George Washington Chapter (C2101). Family member memberships are not accepted.

During the period 2014-2024, the Chapter awarded approximately $460,650.00 in scholarships to many truly gifted, talented, dedicated, deserving Chapter and family members. Effective this year, we have 5 top named scholarship awards as follows:
- The “Ed Dauksz Scholarship Award” named for our beloved former Chapter President and our favorite Marine.
- The “Major General Harry Greene STEM Scholarship Award” in honor and loving memory of a great leader, patriot, educator who made the ultimate sacrifice.
- The “Major General Carl F. McNair Jr. Scholarship Award” named for the Father of Modern Army Aviation and our long-standing Chapter Board member, former President, and stalwart GWC supporter for 40+ years.
- The “PenFed Credit Union Business and Finance Scholarship Award” named after the PenFed Credit Union for their generosity in sponsoring the George Washington Chapter.
· And NEW this year … the “Mortenson Construction Scholarship Award” named for a family-owned construction and real estate development company, a top 25 builder/developer in the United States who is fully invested in their customers’ success and improving the communities in which they live and work.
The scholarship program was established to provide recognition, inspiration, financial assistance, and encouragement to our members and their families in keeping America’s Army Strong. These awards are presented annually to outstanding members and family members enrolled in undergraduate, graduate or trade school programs. Please note that the addition of trade school (also known as vocational or technical school) student applicants is NEW this year!
WHO CAN APPLY?
Member Scholarship Eligibility:
- Open to high school seniors, high school or college graduates, or current full or part time college students who are members of the AUSA George Washington Chapter.
- 3.0 GPA (4.0 Scale) or B average in high school
- Applications MUST include ALL 5 ELEMENTS listed above.
It is important to note that LATE, INCOMPLETE, or NON-CURRENT CHAPTER MEMBER applications will not be considered.
All scholarship awardees will be invited to attend the late spring (early June) George Washington Chapter Luncheon at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington.
