Five people have been charged in connection with the death of Liam Payne after the One Direction star fell from his hotel balcony in Argentina in October.
Argentina’s Justice Department ordered two of the defendants to be remanded in custody, according to sources speaking to local news outlet Infobae, reports MailOnline.
Liam’s friend Rogelio ‘Roger’ Nores, who admits leaving the singer at the hotel hours before he died but denies being responsible what happens, is reported to have been charged with negligent homicide.
The property of waiter Braian Paiz, who admitted to taking drugs with Liam, and CasaSur Palermo Hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra were seized for 5 million pesos (£195,000).
Paiz was then charged with supplying narcotics for payment and Pereyra with supplying drugs.
The outlet also claims hotel managers Gilda Martin and Esteban Grassi with manslaughter following Liam’s tragic death.
All five are now due to appear in court months after the singer was found dead at the Buenos Aires hotel.
Last month, the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office revealed “alcohol, cocaine and prescription antidepressants” were present in the pop star’s body.
The report further suggests that Liam “did not adopt a reflexive posture to protect himself in the fall, so that, for the moment, it can be inferred that he may have fallen in a state of semi or total unconsciousness”.
The investigators stated: “For the prosecution, this situation would also rule out the possibility of a conscious or voluntary act on the part of the victim since, in the state he was in, he did not know what he was doing and could not understand it.”
Liam girlfriend, Kate Cassidy has also reportedly agreed to be interviewed by Argentine Police in a bid to find justice.
According to an anonymous source speaking to the New York Post, Kate has agreed to speak to police as “she wants the right people to be brought to justice”.
Kate is not under investigation for any wrongdoing, but has reportedly agreed to provide a witness statement to provide police with further information into Liam’s final days.
