Fans are swooning over Sam Concepcion in “Once on This Island!” Although 9 Works Theatrical’s production of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Once on This Island,” in which Sam Concepcion starred, finished its run on September 29, the internet just discovered what it missed.
In Sam Concepcion’s latest social media post, the actor flexed stills from the “Once on This Island” musical, which quickly garnered thousands of likes and reactions from netizens! “Grabe yung guns, licensed ba yan,” an Instagram user quipped as Sam Concepcion’s physique stole the spotlight. “The arms are arms-ing,” another one noted.
Long-time fans were also present in the comments section of Sam Concepcion’s post, saying, “Still my dream man till now,” and making a few changes to the lyrics of his popular song “Dati” – “Diba’t ikaw nga ‘yung reyna at ako ang ‘yong daddy.”
Some even pointed out the resemblance to Chris Evans’ iconic superhero role and wrote, “Captain America?” and “Captain America Musical?” While one affirmed the musical’s heroine and said, “We get you, Ti Moune.”
“Once on This Island” follows the story of a peasant girl Ti Moune, played by Thea Astley and Angela Ken in the local theater production. Meanwhile, Ti Moune’s love interest and the male protagonist, Daniel, is played by Jef Flores and Sam Concepcion.

Sam Concepcion thanked 9 Works Theatrical for the opportunity in the caption of his post. “Fell in love with this show. Going to miss being on the island,” he remarked. “It’s been a blast!”
Sam Concepcion also stars as Popoy in “One More Chance, The Musical,” which reruns until October 27 at the PETA Theater Center, New Manila, Quezon City.
