Officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assisted President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos in handing out government aid during the Libreng Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot Para sa Lahat (LAB for ALL) caravan on Thursday (October 3) at the Rizal High School Gymnasium in Pasig City.
The LAB FOR ALL is an aid-giving initiative of First Lady Araneta-Marcos to bring the programs of the government closer to the people. Free health and medical services were given out to the beneficiaries who were at the venue.
“Sinisiguro namin na marami pang mga komunidad sa bawat siyudad at probinsya ang mabibisita ng LAB for ALL. Kung saan mayroong Pilipinong nangangailangan, pagsusumikapan natin, ng inyong pamahalaan na maaabutan ng serbisyo,” President Marcos said in his speech.
The DSWD’s Field Office in the National Capital Region (NCR) provided Php2,000 in financial aid, under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, to each of the 1,717 beneficiaries who joined the LAB FOR ALL caravan.
Aside from cash assistance, each beneficiary also received family food packs (FFPs).
The DSWD officials present in the activity were Undersecretary for Operations Group Monina Josefina Romualdez, Asst. Secretary for Regional Operations Paul Ledesma, and DSWD-NCR Regional Director Michael Joseph Lorico.
Other government officials present in the LAB for ALL event were Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Teodoro Herbosa; Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos; Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Prospero De Vera; Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida Acosta; and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Mel Robles.
Pasig City local officials present include Mayor Vico Sotto, Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski, and Congressman Roman Romulo.
