The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) holds a virtual meeting with regional directors from the agency’s Field Offices (FOs) to tackle the agency’s on-going response and future actions relative to the Tropical Depression (TD) “Kristine.”
Led by DMRG Undersecretary Diana Cajipe, Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, and Special Assistant to the Secretary (SAS) Leo Quintilla, the online meeting was called to ensure that the FOs are on alert for disaster response and has sufficient resources to mitigate the possible effects of TD Khristine, even more as it is projected to develop into a Super Typhoon (ST).
Director Michael Cristopher Mathay of the Disaster Response and Management Bureau (DRMB) also discussed the necessary coordination to expedite the production and logistics of family food packs (FFPs).
These are in line with Secretary Rex Gatchalian’s earlier instructions to provide immediate assistance and resource augmentation to all local government units (LGUs), particularly those along the track of the weather disturbance.
