Chelsea Manalo, the 25-year-old Filipina beauty queen, concluded her journey in the 73rd Miss Universe competition held in Mexico after failing to secure a spot in the Top 12. Despite her strong performance, the Bulacan native’s run ended in the Top 30.
Manalo confidently showcased her fierce presence during the competition. Prior to the announcement of the Top 12 finalists, the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPh) representative strutted across the stage with her signature “tampisaw walk,” while wearing a blue two-piece swimsuit with a gold cape.
Meanwhile, this year’s crown, crafted by the Filipino luxury brand Jewelmer, is named the ‘Light of Infinity.’ It features 23 South Sea pearls, the Philippines’ national gem, complemented by diamonds and gold, designed to resemble the sun with its radiant, extended rays.
Alongside the preliminary competition on November 14, the beauty organization presented special awards to select countries and individuals. Among the honorees was the Philippines, recognized as the ‘Best National Host Tour Country.’ The award was received by Jonas Antonio Gaffud, the creative director of MUPh.
