Cagayan de Oro City – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Region 10 emerged victorious at the 1st Inter-Agency Dragon Boat Race Competition, held at Isla de Oro, Cagayan de Oro City, in celebration of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
The BJMP team, representing Region 10 under the leadership of JCSUPT CESAR M LANGAWIN, demonstrated exceptional prowess and teamwork, securing the championship trophy and a cash prize of PHP 10,000 with the support of JSUPT WILLIAM T MANENGYAO, DPA, CDOCJ-MD Jail Warden, and JINSP LYN M BERNIL, CDOCJ-FD Jail Warden led the BJMP squad to this remarkable achievement.
The competition, organized by the Office of the Human Resource Management Officer and endorsed by Ms. Xsyclyn Faith B. Lumbatan, RPm, OIC Human Resource Management Office, aimed to promote inter-agency collaboration through competitive sports. The event saw participation from various agencies, including LGU-CDO, Civil Service Commission (CSC) X, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), Department of Science and Technology (DOST) X, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) X, and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) X.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) secured second place, while the Civil Service Commission (CSC) X earned third place. The event was graced by City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, Chief of Staff Sheila Lumbatan representing Mayor Rolando Klarex A. Uy, HRMD Department Manager Ms. Xsyclyn Faith B. Lumbatan, and Atty. Rowena Gingo, Acting Director II of Civil Service Commission Field Office X, whose efforts made the event possible.
This competition has successfully strengthened bonds among participating agencies and highlighted the importance of cooperation and camaraderie in public service.
