Realme has just unveiled their newest lineup of phones, the Realme 13 series 5G. We had the amazing opportunity to get our hands on the Realme 13+ 5G before its official launch, and we’re here to show you exactly what to expect from this latest release.
Build and I/O
Let’s start out with the outside of the phone. It feels sturdy and premium, and doesn’t look like it’ll wear down easiliy. With realme’s Armorshell protection, which they advertise to be a high strength structural system, it keeps the phone resistant to drops, bending, and scratching. It’s also rated for an IP65, so it can handle small dust particles and water splashes without severe damage. Keep in mind that it is not waterproof, just water resistant.
It also has the basics, a dual sim slot, a headphone jack, and the power and volume buttons.
Display
This phone has an OLED display with a resolution of 1800×2400. It’s a really beautiful screen, vibrant and sharp and is wonderful for consuming media. It also has a 120hz refresh rate with a touch sampling rate of 240hz which can turbo charge to 1200hz in compatible games like PUBG. Audio
The dual speaker set up also enhances the media consumption experience. They deliver pretty good sound quality for phone speakers, whenever I was playing a couple games of farlight, it didn’t really sound tin-ny, and it was also really loud even while we were in a noisy environment like the mall.
Since it’s stereo I could roughly know if enemies were on the left or right.
Cameras
The main camera is pretty good, it has a 50mp Sony sensor with optical image stabilization. It delivers images with great image quality. The photos come out sharp and vibrant with plenty of detail for editing. Here’s a couple of sample shots we got with the phone.
While there are visually three cameras at the back, this phone practically only has one usable camera, since the other camera is a macro, which can only be used in a few niche scenarios, and another camera-like module at the back that’s only used as a sensor.
Performance
My co-reviewer, is an avid player of Call of duty mobile and she absolutely loved playing on this phone! Games were really buttery smooth and felt amazing with the 120 Hz refresh rate of the display. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300E powers this phone and along with the 5G connectivity, lag was not a problem.
A couple of the games we tested were Call of Duty, Farlight, and Wild rift. All of them were lag free and without the phone overheating, which is helped by the phone’s vapor chamber cooling system, keeping the phone nice and cool all throughout our gaming session.

Since it’s really good at gaming, it’s expected that this phone will excel in day to day tasks like multitasking and general social media use.
Conclusion
The Realme 13+ 5G impresses with its solid build, immersive OLED display, and excellent gaming performance, making it a great option for both gamers and media enthusiasts. Its vibrant 120Hz display, smooth touch response, and efficient cooling system make gaming enjoyable without the worry of lag or overheating. While the camera performance is decent with its 50MP main camera, the secondary cameras feel more like fillers. Overall, this phone offers a well-rounded experience in terms of design, performance, and multimedia, making it a competitive option in the mid-range market.
