‘BRUTAL’ DAY | Ticket-buying frenzy expected for Olivia Rodrigo’s PHL concert

It’s only hours before the online ticket selling, and my, oh my, I feel like it will be brutal out there!

If you’re a regular concert-goer, you know the feeling: those butterflies in your stomach before and after buying tickets. Well, get ready to multiply that by a hundred or even a thousand for this concert. The excitement is so intense, that you might even start sweating just thinking about being first in the online queuing.

If you’ve been out of the loop, here’s the thing — Olivia Rodrigo’s coming and everyone is panicking! The pop sensation is finally making her way to the Philippines for a one-night-only concert.

Her relatable lyrics and powerful vocals have fueled Rodrigo’s meteoric rise to fame. Her hit songs, including “Driver’s License,” “Brutal,” and “Good 4 U,” have resonated with audiences worldwide, making her one of the most sought-after artists of her generation.

I’m not a die-hard Olivia Rodrigo fan, but I do enjoy some of her songs. When I’m feeling nostalgic or want to feel like I’m in a music video, I’ll put her ballads on repeat. One of my favorite performances is surprisingly not of her songs, but her cover of Carly Simon’s ‘You’re So Vain,’ which she sang at Carly’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction two years ago.

Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS tour heading to the Philippines

Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo has finally announced her highly anticipated visit to the Philippines. The singer-songwriter will be bringing her GUTS World Tour to the country on October 5th at the Philippine Arena.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, September 11th by LiveNation on their social media pages, sending fans into a frenzy. Rodrigo herself followed suit, further fueling the excitement among her Filipino followers.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale on September 14th and can be redeemed at SM Tickets from September 28th to October 4th.

Dubbed the ‘Silver Star Show,’ this concert offers a unique opportunity for fans as all tickets are priced at a flat rate of P1,500 including taxes. Fans probably pinched themselves to make sure it wasn’t a fever dream. (I cannot fathom this as a K-pop stan — what do you mean it’s just 1,500???)

The concert announcement explained that all net ticket proceeds will support Olivia Rodrigo’s Fund 4 Good, a global initiative dedicated to empowering women and girls through community-based non-profits. This means that by attending the concert, fans can not only enjoy the show but also contribute to a meaningful cause.

If you’re fortunate enough to get a ticket, not only will you get to experience Olivia Rodrigo’s incredible performance, but you’ll also be supporting a worthy cause.

Concert-Goers Face New Challenge: Random Seating

Olivia’s upcoming concert is set to bring a unique challenge for fans: random seating. Unlike traditional concerts where fans can choose their seats, this show will assign seats randomly. (A first to know, not just for me, but for everyone!)

Concert-goers will only be able to determine their seat locations once they receive their physical tickets. This unexpected twist has added an element of surprise and excitement to the anticipation surrounding the event.

To ensure a smooth ticketing process, LiveNation has emphasized the importance of ticket buyers presenting identification when redeeming their tickets. This measure is aimed at preventing any confusion or disputes at the venue.

With the combination of random seating and high demand, securing tickets for Olivia Rodrigo’s Manila concert is likely to be a competitive endeavor. Fans will need to be prepared for a potentially challenging ticketing process. (I can hear people from a mile away saying, “Internet connection, WORK WITH ME!)

Again, it would definitely be brutal out there!

‘Kabayan’ Prices

Since the ticket prices are affordable, here’s what netizens buzzed on social media:

  • This girl has such a good heart. Thank you Olivia Rodrigo. We love you.
  • All of the proceeds are going to charity. QUEEN!
  • 📢 PRESYONG KABAYAN! ✨
  • Olivia Rodrigo is selling tickets for her show in Manila for ALL sections for ONLY 1,500 PESOS. That’s 26.56 USD INCLUDING TAXES by the way!!!! She really said “pasok mga suki, presyong divisoria, presyong kabayan” 😭😭😭
  • Ticket: 1,500; Enemy: the whole country

One post that caught my attention was:  “No cuz Olivia announcing her concert in Manila THIS late (months after she announced all her dates) meant that she wanted to ensure that only Filipinos would get the chance to buy them since neighboring countries already bought theirs.” If this was true, Olivia girl, you got my heart.

Another one was Andrea Brillantes’ Instagram story where she acknowledged that almost everyone was tagging her in the announcements of the concerts, she said “A lot of ppl have been mentioning me, yes I got the memo, yes nagpapanic na ako… HINDI AKO PWEDE MAG KA SCHEDULE NG OCT 5!!! BLOCK OFF YAN BLOCK OFF!!”

People are fired up and I’m guessing they’d be electrified once the ticketing goes live.

A Night to Remember with Filipino Livies

Olivia Rodrigo’s upcoming Manila concert is a momentous occasion for both the singer and her Filipino fans. This marks her debut on the Philippine stage, and it’s sure to leave a lasting impression. Rodrigo’s music has resonated with millions worldwide, thanks to her honest and relatable lyrics. Her live performances are known for their energy and emotional connection with the audience, making this concert a highly anticipated event.

If you’re a fan or simply looking for a night of unforgettable music, don’t miss the opportunity to see Olivia Rodrigo perform on October 5th. It’s a chance to experience the electricity of her live performance and create memories that will last a lifetime.

So, it wouldn’t be a bad idea, right?
