Computer and Mathematical Occupations, with a share of 14% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the European aerospace, defence and security industry in Q4 2023 , ahead of Architecture and Engineering Occupations with a 12% share of new job postings.
The other prominent roles included Management Occupations with a 9% share in Q4 2023, Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 4% share and Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.
Top five companies accounted for 57% of hiring activity
Thales posted 3,359 jobs in Q4 2023 and registered a growth of 34% over the previous quarter, followed by Airbus with 2,893 jobs and a 10% drop. Saab, with 1,304 jobs, and Rheinmetall, with 1,101 jobs, recorded a 3% rise and a 23% rise, respectively, while Egis Avia recorded a 52% increase with a 1,087 new job postings during Q4 2023.
Regional analysis of hiring in the European aerospace, defence and security industry, Q4 2023
France held the leading share of the European aerospace, defence and security hiring activity with a 39.77% share, a 16% increase over Q3 2023. Germany was next with 23.93%, four-percentage-point down over the previous quarter.
