FOUR persons were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in northern Cebu on Monday, December 29, 2024.
The first buy-bust operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit of Danao City Police Station under station commander Lieutenant Colonel Allan Rosario at 10:24 a.m. in Sitio Dancar, Barangay Dunggo-an, Danao City, which resulted in the arrest of Ma. Dolores Durano Buot, 57, the target of the operation, and her cohort Wilmar Calderon Lawas, 46.
Seized from the suspects were 5.12 grams of alleged shabu valued at P34,816.
The second buy-bust took place at 11:30 a.m. in Purok Kamunggay, Sitio Dapdap, Barangay Catarman, Liloan, Cebu.
The suspects were identified as Mark Christopher Jose, 30, and Mel Angelo Jose Oslay, a 21-year-old Marine Engineering student, both natives of Tagbilaran City, Bohol, but temporarily resided in Purok Cogon, Barangay Poblacion, Compostela, Cebu.
Taken from them were 5.2 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P35,360.
The Drug Enforcement of Liloan Municipal Police Station led by their chief, Major Mawi Arcilla, conducted the buy-bust after verifying information about the suspects’ illegal drug activity. (DVG, TPT)
